In Galveston, Fr. Pogue has been the spiritual leader of a diverse parish, responsible for leading the staff, presiding over the vestry and school board, and upholding the vision of the parish to offer loving hands to God, to one another, and to the world at our doorstep. Fr. Pogue and his wife, Gay, have been married for forty years. Gay teaches ninth grade English and is an artist. As soon as their Galveston home is sold, she will join Ron in Kansas. They are the parents of two grown sons.
The Pogues were in Lawrence the weekend of June 26-28 to interview with the Bishop and Vestry, meet the staff, and worship on Sunday morning at Trinity. “We loved the people, were uplifted by the worship, and are looking forward to living in this vibrant community. Fr. Jonathan Jensen has had a fruitful ministry here and I am honored to have the opportunity to come after him to shepherd this wonderful parish through the next year of transition as they prepare to call their next Rector,” Pogue said.
