TEST Tidbits: Report on the Alternative Christmas Market
This year, your Trinity environmental Stewardship Team (TEST) chose two charities to receive funds from our Alternative Christmas Market. We chose Episcopal Relief and Development’s programs on women’s educational issues because we believe an educated woman is better equipped to improve her family and community, and to make choices that protect the environment. We also chose Heifer International, which gives families a boost in helping themselves with a farm animal, an animal for its fiber or a sustainable cook-stove. All animals are locally sourced and ongoing instruction is given for families to learn how to manage their animals. A first-born animal is to be gifted to a neighbor.
We are so happy to report that you gave $281 to Heifer International and $315 to ERD. Thus, the total giving was $596. Each organization had a matching $1 for $1 grant – so your gifts will add up to $1092.00. The donations were in the mail on Dec. 23, so they have a good chance of meeting the Dec. 31 deadline for doubling! Thanks for taking part in this easy way to honor a special person with a donation to worthy causes.
