FOUR ACTIONS FOR A HEALTHY PLANET
Usually, these 4 actions come at the end of the list. Today we will highlight their importance in caring for creation. Speak up about the connection between your actions and your faith. God gave humankind the responsibility to steward His gift and asked us to love others as ourselves. These others are often the ones most hurt by climate disasters. Keep up political pressure for solutions. Vote, hold leaders accountable, become involved in local creation care actions. Advocate for and support organizations that safeguard the natural world or support effective policies (Examples are Arbor Day Foundation and Union of Concerned Scientists’). Focus on planet friendly and sustainable purchases and investments. Buy quality over quantity, shun plastics and invest in companies that exhibit caring for the planet and their employees.
Here is the rest of the list for your consideration: Conserve energy by insulating, turning down heat in winter and turning up air-conditioners in the summer. Just two degrees makes a difference. Consider reducing car trips. Walk and bike more or use public transportation. Eat more plant-based foods, plan for leftover food, shop with a list and store food properly. Ease away from using plastic as much as you can (made from oil). Compos if you can and always recycle. Plant trees and native plants and conserve water in gardening. The actions you take as a family, when added to the efforts of others, will make a difference in the health of our world. Thanks for your efforts.
