Prayers for our Mothers & Graduates
Here are a few prayers for our own mothers, Mother Earth and the graduates as we celebrate them all in May.
Mother: “Almighty God, we entrust all who are dear to us to your never-failing care and love, for this life and the life to come, knowing that you are doing for them better things than we can hope or pray for; through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Mother Earth: “Blessed is your name. Blessed are your fields and forests, your rocks and mountains, your grasses and trees and flowers, and every green and growing thing. Blessed are your waters—your air—and all creatures. For we are all one family, and the same spirit moves through us all.”
Graduates: Dear Lord, we pray for all our graduates that they find guidance in their lives through the wise words attributed to St. Francis: “Lord make us instruments of your peace. Where there is hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy….”
Earth Steward Action: Honor your mother(s) and pray for those graduating.
