CONNECTING WITH NATURE
Last week’s article was focused on being grateful and praising God for His Creation. This week’s article is focused on how our physical experience with nature expands our awe & connection with Creation. Loving our pets or sifting soil through our fingers connects us with their “aliveness”. We feel the calmness of the forest or the force of an ocean wave in experiencing them. Seeing the blaze of fall colors fills us with delight. Listening to morning bird song and chorus of frogs in the evening lifts our spirits. Who can forget the smell and taste of “home grown tomatoes” or freshly baked apple pie? Being in nature also benefits our health. Vitamin D is absorbed, we exercise more, reduce stress and return to other tasks refreshed. We also tend to love what we experience which helps us become better Earth stewards.
