WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR CREATION CARE

September 1, 2024, begins the Season of Creation with prayers and praise for God’s Creation and a recognitation of our responsibilities to steward Creation. A helpful way of thinking about putting our love into action is to build on basic principles. Norman Habel of The Earth Bible Project has listed four general principles of eco-just Creation Care.

1. Recognize the intrinsic worth of all of Creation. (humankind is one part of but not outside of this creation).

2. Remember that all of Creation is interconnected and depends upon the health of others for survival.

3. Each aspect pf Creation has a “voice” which requires consideration for a healthy whole.

4. God ‘s design gives purpose to every aspect of Creation.

Let’s keep these principles in mind during this Season of

Creation.
