Faithful Advocacy for Creation

Our celebration of the Season of Creation is almost over. It ends with The Blessing of the Animals. We have shown gratitude for creation, experienced God’s natural world, focused our efforts on learning about creation and how to take personal actions to protect it. To this list we now add advocacy which begins with informing ourselves on the issues from trusted and varied sources. We are then equipped to:

• Vote and support “get out the vote” plus volunteer at polls.

• Add our voices to Episcopal Public Policy alerts (EPPN).

• Get involved in local and national policy making with letters, calls. visits or service.

• Support issues with donations (take list of environmental entities on TEST bulletin board).

• Take direct actions — volunteering, media notices, vigils, boycotts, marches and protests.

• Ask God’s guidance within each of the above.
