New EPA Direction and Fast “Exemptions”
Any new president has the privilege of influencing the National Environmental Protection Agency toward their policies within the “time-honored process” of scientific review and public input on new or rewritten regulations.
Lee Zeldin, new EPA administrator, has proposed 31 revised regulations to “roll back trillions of regulations that have suffocated every sector of the American economy.” Zeldin further states: “We are driving a dagger straight into the heart of the climate change religion . . . .“ (See website for list.)
President Trump invited companies to write to him if standards regulating hazardous air pollution were burdensome, and he would consider an “exemption” for up to two years. This “exemption” would avoid the EPA process. The Environmental Defense Fund has filed against EPA actions. Zeldin also extended the deadline for industries to report carbon emissions as required currently. We need the EPA to protect our air quality.
