Let’s Celebrate Earth Day

Two Local Events Great for Families:

Lawrence’s Earth Day Fair, Saturday, April 20, 1:00 to 4:00 PM, in South Park (1141 Massachusetts St.).

Lots of Earth-friendly crafts and activities. (Come and see us at the TEST booth!)

Event admission is free—but if possible, bring a “used can” for Cans for the Community, or an item of clothing to donate to Ballard Center. Event sponsored by City of Lawrence and Watkins Museum.

Open Barn Day at Shy 38, Saturday, April 27, 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, 2100 Wild Horse Road.

Shy 38 is a Kansas farm sanctuary, about 8 miles north of Lawrence. Get a guided tour through the sanctuary, meet a number of rescued farm animals, and learn their unique stories. Tickets are $10 for adults; $5 for children under 12; free for kids 0-3. You may pay at the door, but advance ticket purchasing is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Tickets at https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=DCGZBT6TF8PPY. (Note: If you go, dress appropriately: Getting close to animals may involve a little dirt.)
