U.N. Biodiversity Conference to Begin
• 16th United Nations Conference on Biodiversity
• Oct. 2-Nov. 1

The agenda will include effects of biodiversity loss for food systems (75% of plant diversity has been lost since 1900’s), water supplies and ocean health (50% of living coral has been lost since 1870), conservation and renewal of land ecosystems, consequences of climate change, conservation and stabilization of species (species are are being lost at 1,000 times the natural rate), urbanization, economics and technology — the good, bad and future for biodiversity, and societal/personal stewardship.
